Picking:
The league starts with everyone making predictions of the teams in each division. When you make a selection to start the season, you will also pick a win total for each team. I will give you ranges and for each team, you select the win range for which you think the team will achieve. These ranges can only be picked once and will be scored in the same way as the points at the conclusion of the season.
There are special points that are awarded additionally to the team points. For example if you get all the NL east correct, that would give you 5 points plus the addition 2 for that division so you would get 7 points total for the league. See the points selection below for more information.
Points:
On the first of each month, I will give out points. The points are as follows:
Team in correct position: 1 point
Team in correct win range (end of year only): 1 point
Special Points:
All Teams in Division Correct: 2 points per division (+1 free swap)
All Teams in League Correct: 5 points per league (+2 free swap)
All Teams in MLB Correct: 10 points (+3 free swaps)
Swaps:
A swap occurs when you switch two teams in any division. As default, you get one per month. In the last week of the month, you will be allowed to submit one official “swap”. This change will be made on the 2ndof the month, after the points have been tallied for that month.
For example, if you want to swap for May. You would submit a request in the last week of April and then on May 1st, the points will be tallied and then on the 2nd, your swap will be made official. The deadline for the swap request would be the first of the month. These cannot be reused so after the deadline, they are invalid.
If you receive a bonus swap, as indicated in the bonus points section above, these are usable for any month and can carry over to any month you choose. They don’t count towards your default swaps and do carry over. All this information will be sorted by myself and released on the 2nd of each month to all the members.
At the end of the season, I will tally the points and we will have our winner!
